We are looking for a Sanitation Supervisor to join our dynamic team at SunTree Snack Foods.In this role, you will have the opportunity to:Contribute to our mission of inspiring, creating, and delivering high-quality snacks with exceptional service.Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive innovation and meet the evolving needs of our customers and consumers.Ensure the highest standards of food safety, quality, and customer satisfaction are met.Uphold Trophy's strong commitment to caring for customers, our community, and the environment.Key Responsibilities:Manage the Sanitation team in the effective delivery of the sanitation schedule.Responsible for assisting in the development, implementation, documentation, training, and on-going improvement of the sanitation program in support of the plant's Safe Quality Food (BRC) certification.Actively participates in all internal and external audits.Develop and implement new methods, procedures, and systems to improve sanitation performance and utilize new technology and processes to maximize efficiency.Ensure all equipment is maintained and operated according to established sanitary and housekeeping standards, to the highest efficiency necessary.Cooperate with the operations department in the required maintenance of equipment and facilities.Coordinate with the Plant Manager and QA Manager to ensure proper follow-up on all customer and regulatory issues (complaints, audits, and requests for information).Coach and motivate all plant employees in pursuit of sanitation excellence and plant safety.Conduct training sessions for the department employees as needed and ensure training and transfer of knowledge to team members.Broaden sanitation skill sets to operations and maintenance teams as necessary.Participate in regular safety meetings, safety training, and hazard assessments.Schedule adequate staffing to ensure sanitation operations are complete on a timely basis and plans cleaning schedule and proper allocation of resources.Quality & Safety Ensure all Health and Safety and Food Safety policies, regulations, and principles are followed and adhered to.Communicate with other departments and management on sanitation concerns and actively make recommendations for changes in equipment, plant layout, or work practices to improve sanitation standards.Use initiative to find and correct non-complaint sanitation issues.Maintain appropriate staffing levels for cost effectiveness.Maintain accurate and thorough sanitation records.Ensure timely completion of sanitation department goals and action plans both short and long term.Assemble and disassemble equipment as necessary to prescribed SSOP.Make minor equipment repairs as needed.Employees must be able to work with a variety of chemicals and personal protective equipment (PPE).Train and orient new staff in the specific functions and tasks of their job, as well as all Health and Safety Practices and procedures.Promote and comply with Sun Tree's Health and Safety policies and procedures including the wearing of PPE, Lockout, WHMIS, etc.May perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.Experience & Qualifications:High school diploma or equivalent.At least 5 years direct experience in food plant sanitation activities At least 3 years' experience managing a team preferably in food sanitation, Quality Assurance, or Production.Working knowledge of food plant regulatory standards (CFIA, etc.), GMP, HACCP, BRC, food safety, food quality, etc.A diploma/degree in food science is an asset.An understanding of pathogens and other food contaminants is required as well as an understanding of various sanitation chemicals and physical cleaning.Leadership competencies that lead and inspire others - drives for exceptional results.Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to forward think in critical situations is a must.Basic computer skills.Excellent verbal and written communication skills required.Bi-lingual English/Spanish is a plus.Ability t
