SAP PP/DS in S/4 HANA Greenfield environment

Role: SAP S/4HANA PP/DS (Production Planning & Detailed Scheduling) Consultant / Architect Location: Remote (with occasional travel to Fairhaven, MA) Engagement Type: Contract / Full-time Project: S/4HANA Greenfield Implementation (Infor SAP Migration) Role Overview We are seeking an experienced SAP S/4HANA PP/DS Consultant/Architect to design and implement advanced production planning and detailed scheduling capabilities for a highly configurable manufacturing environment. This role will be instrumental in enabling constraint-based planning, optimized scheduling, and efficient execution of manufacturing processes for configurable products such as golf equipment. The consultant will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration between demand, configuration (AVC), and production execution . Key Responsibilities Lead the design and implementation of SAP PP/DS in an S/4HANA greenfield environment Configure and optimize: Finite capacity planning Detailed scheduling board Production heuristics and optimization strategies Design planning models that account for: Machine capacities Setup times and changeovers Production constraints Integrate PP/DS with: Core PP (MRP, production orders) Sales demand (SD) Variant-driven inputs from AVC (configurable products) Define and optimize: Planning strategies (MTO / CTO / MTS) Order scheduling logic Work with business stakeholders to: Understand current planning processes (Infor) Redesign for SAP S/4HANA best practices Support: Data migration Testing cycles (SIT/UAT) Go-live readiness and stabilization Provide guidance on planning governance, performance tuning, and scalability Required Skills & Experience 8+ years of SAP experience with strong focus on Production Planning (PP) and PP/DS Proven hands-on experience with SAP S/4HANA PP/DS (embedded or standalone) Strong expertise in: Finite capacity planning Detailed scheduling PP/DS heuristics and optimization Deep understanding of: MRP and production planning processes Production orders and execution flows Experience integrating PP/DS with: SAP PP (core manufacturing) Sales demand (SD) Experience in discrete manufacturing environments with high variability Ability to translate real-world manufacturing constraints into system logic Preferred Qualifications Experience in configure-to-order (CTO) or make-to-order (MTO) environments Exposure to integration with SAP AVC (Advanced Variant Configuration) Experience migrating from Infor or other ERP systems to SAP S/4HANA Prior experience in industries such as: Consumer goods manufacturing Industrial or discrete manufacturing Strong stakeholder engagement and workshop facilitation skills Regards, Jagannath Gaddam
