Job Summary Join our dynamic food production team as a Sausage Maker and embark on an exciting journey into the art of sausage crafting! This position offers hands-on experience in a fast-paced food processing plant, where you'll learn essential skills in meat preparation, sausage manufacturing, and food safety protocols. Under the guidance of experienced professionals, you'll develop your knife skills, understanding of sanitation standards, and mechanical knowledge—all while contributing to high-quality food production. This role is perfect for motivated individuals eager to start a rewarding career in the food industry and master the craft of sausage making from the ground up. Duties Assist in preparing meat ingredients according to established recipes and specifications Learn and perform meat cutting and grinding techniques with proper knife skills Support the sausage manufacturing process, including stuffing, linking, and packaging Maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards throughout the production area in compliance with OSHA and HACCP guidelines Operate basic machinery and equipment used in food processing with proper mechanical knowledge Follow food safety protocols diligently to ensure product quality and compliance with industry regulations Help with inventory management, including packaging materials and raw ingredients Participate in routine sanitation procedures to uphold a safe and hygienic food processing environment Requirements Prior experience or familiarity with a sausage making environments is REQUIRED Knowledge of OSHA safety standards, HACCP procedures, and sanitation practices Strong knife skills or willingness to learn meat cutting techniques safely Mechanical aptitude or interest in operating food processing equipment Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced setting while maintaining attention to detail Understanding of food safety principles relevant to meat processing plants Excellent teamwork skills and a positive attitude toward learning new skills 18 years of age required to operate food processing equipment This apprenticeship is an excellent stepping stone for anyone passionate about the food industry, eager to develop specialized skills in sausage making, and committed to upholding the highest standards of food safety.
