Join us at EcoSouth, where we empower you to make a meaningful impact every day.As a Scale House Clerk, you'll play a vital role in ensuring smooth operations by accurately weighing and recording vehicle information.Your attention to detail will be key in maintaining precise documentation, which is critical for our billing processes.We're looking for someone with moderate computer skills and experience in trucking or data entry, who is ready to embrace our safety procedures in an industrial setting.At EcoSouth, we believe in supporting your growth with competitive benefits like 401(k) matching, comprehensive health insurance, and paid time off.Let's work together to build a sustainable future.Compensation:$16 - $18 hourly Responsibilities:Scale Operator Duties and Responsibilities:Weighs vehicles by means of an electronic scale connected to a computer to determine the weight of C& D Material Log information into a centralized database Calculate costs for drivers based on vehicle weight Maintain a safe, organized working environment Scale Clerk Requirements and Qualifications Makes appropriate decisions on applicable policies, rules, procedures, regulations, rates, hours of operations, and the customer information computer systems.Effectively execute all intermediate skills associated with customer service, including, but not limited to, answering and effectively satisfying all customer requests, inquiries, and complaints.Additional Duties Performs other related work as it is assigned Qualifications:A high school diploma or GED certificate is preferred Moderate computer proficiency Experience in trucking or in an industrial yard environment Basic math skills Experience with radio communication Skills/Knowledge/Abilities Ability to operate an electric weighing scale and a computer console Ability to make routine arithmetical computations and tabulations accurately and to prepare routine reports Skill in computer operations, including pertinent software applications and a specialized Customer Service system Physical Requirements:Vision:adequate to enter and read material on computer screens.Able to identify individuals to initiate greetings, give directions, and engage in other business interactions Hearing:Able to hear safety alerts and warning signals Speaking:Able to engage in conversations in person and via electronic means and deliver information to groups of varying sizes with or without amplification Equipment Operation:Able to operate a wide range of tools Carrying:able to occasionally carry up to 20lbs/9kg.Lifting:able to lift up to 30lbs/14kg.Squatting/Kneeling:able to squat or kneel Standing:able to stand for extended periods of time, delivering information Walking:Able to walk through the shop and other outside elements About Company At Desoto Recycling and Disposal, our mission is to provide local communities with outstanding customer service and an easy to do business with culture.We believe in delivering transparency without surprises every step of the way, beginning with our plain language service agreements, our customer service, and our environmental responsibilities..
