PRIMARY PURPOSE: Assist school personnel with parent and community relations and communication in such a way to facilitate achievement of school's goals QUALIFICATIONS: Minimum Education: High School Diploma or GED Valid Texas Paraprofessional Certificate or ability to obtain upon hire Must meet 1 of 3 following criteria as required by NCLB: Associate's degree, OR 60 credit hours from an accredited institution of higher learning, OR Successful completion of basic written exam Special Knowledge/Skills Ability to work well with adults, parents, and community representatives Ability to work well with children Ability to use/learn basic computer applications Knowledge of general office equipment Effective communication skills (written and verbal) in English Ability to speak Spanish preferred Minimum Experience : Experience working with children/students or parents
