Job Summary And Responsibilities As our Scheduler, you will orchestrate a seamless and efficient care process for patients and providers by coordinating appointments and managing schedules. Every day you will schedule patient appointments and coordinate multiple provider schedules for medical procedures, tests, and studies. You'll ensure timely scheduling through effective communication, accurately gather and verify patient insurance and documentation, process reports, and provide exceptional customer service to patients via phone and in-clinic assistance. To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate strong attention to detail, multitasking abilities, and excellent communication and reasoning skills to manage scheduling complexities and patient inquiries, always striving for accuracy and efficiency. Coordinates block scheduling for the department to ensure maximum utilization of OR time which includes ensuring appropriate and timely communication occurs. Provides training to physician office staff as needed to ensure efficient departmental operations which includes conducting ongoing visits as needed to support strategic growth of service lines. Coordinates surgery schedule and collaborates with centralized scheduling for the hospital to ensure schedule is completed within appropriate guidelines. Serves as a resource for physician surgeon regarding scheduling needs. Assists management with the daily operations of the department which includes ensuring staff records and requirements including appropriate licenses and certifications are maintained. Maintains timekeeping records for the department to ensure employees time is being appropriately recorded and notifies management of any discrepancies. Job Requirements Required One year experience working in inpatient or outpatient physician office Preferred Bachelors in a related field. or (experience may be accepted in lieu of education) Three years experience in Perioperative/Centralized scheduling Procedural scheduling experience in a medical setting Leadership experience Where You'll Work Mercy Medical Center Redding offers comprehensive health care to nearly 300,000 residents in a six-county region.
