JobID:902 Position Type:Secretarial/Clerical/Secretary Date Posted:3/5/2026 Location:Nonnewaug High School Date Available:06/15/2026 Closing Date:03/25/2026 Region 14 Vacancy POSITION:School Agriscience Secretary/Receptionist, 12 month position LOCATION:Nonnewaug High School/ Ellis Clark Regional Agriscience Program START DATE:June 15, 2026 DEADLINE DATE:March 25, 2026 GENERAL DUTIES AND Responsibilities:Nonnewaug High School seeks a school secretary/receptionist for the purpose of providing secretarial and administrative support for students, parents, and staff with the focus on the agriscience program.The candidate must demonstrate:Excellent secretarial skills, general bookkeeping skills, organizational and filing skills, and the ability to use electronic equipment for word processing, data management, information retrieval, visual presentations, and telecommunications Appropriate telephone etiquette, with welcoming mannerisms that reflect our ideals as a nurturing community Strong integrity with ability to demonstrate good moral character and initiative Exhibit a personality that demonstrates enthusiasm and interpersonal skills to relate well with students, staff, and administration Organize and maintain an efficient and effective office that handles a variety of tasks for the administration, faculty, students, and parents of the school Perform secretarial and clerical tasks of a varied nature.Many tasks will require a thorough knowledge of the rules and regulations of the school and school system Act as a receptionist, greeting visitors, answering telephone calls in a pleasant and efficient manner, and communicating effectively in routine, sensitive, and confidential matters Maintain a current school calendar of events and use of facilities Arrange appointments and maintain a schedule for the agriscience program to include scheduling recruiting visits and coordinating with 13 sending towns Strong computer skills, with proficiency in various computer applications (Tyler Technologies School ERP Pro, Google and Microsoft Suite, Powerschool (Learn to use theaet.com) Manage and operate an efficient agriscience department office with responsibilities for all functions of the Secretary to the Director of Agriscience Preparation of Reports, Projects, and Documents Manage bookkeeping systems as applicable including purchase orders, accounts payable, and student activity accounts Compose and distribute memos/letters and documents, as determined by the Director Perform usual office routines such as processing ingoing and outgoing mail, answering phone calls and other forms of communication, and welcome visitors.Maintain inventory and order supplies as needed Assist in the completion of state and school reports Adhere to strict confidentiality Create and manage agriscience specific forms Answering daily student needs and questions Filing, stocking, and copying department forms Keep track of all student FFA waivers and program-paperwork Keep up-to-date records of enrollment Process and organize a large amount of PO's annually Weekend and Student Worker Time Sheets:Keeping record of any time sheets - Total hours worked x minimum wage - Reports go to Payroll Process 1008th grade applications, coordinate with guidance counselors dates for the director to recruit & interview students.Mail accept & wait list letters Create and keep an updated list at all times of agriscience student enrollment Review FFA meeting attendance and record in spreadsheet after cross checking with attendance sheets Other duties as assigned SALARY:According to contract Reports to:Director of Agriscience, Principal APPLY ONLINE:Letter of intent Resume 3 letters of reference The Regional School District 14 Board of Education does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion, marital status, national/ethnic origin, age, sex, gender identity or expression, sexual orientation, or disability in its programs, activities, and employment practices as set forth in compliance with the Office of Civil Rights, Title VI, Title IX, and Section 504.Any person having inquiries concerning Regional School District 14 Public Schools' compliance with Section 504, Title VI or Title IX should contact:Dina Ericson, Director of Student Services, Regional School District 14, PO Box 469, Woodbury, CT 06798 (203) 263-0416.
