Must have completed Behavior Specialist / ABA Therapy training and have a minimum 1years Behavior Therapy experience.Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.Anoka-Hennepin School District is seeking an Onsite Behavior Intervention Specialist (BIS) for the 20252026 school year to support multiple elementary schools in the Anoka, MN area.This contract position starts January 5, 2026, and concludes June 5, 2026, offering approximately 18.75 hours per week, typically from 8:30 AM to 4:10 PM, with slight variations as needed.Key Responsibilities:Consult and implement positive behavior interventions and supports to foster student progress.Conduct functional behavior assessments to design effective behavior plans.Collaborate with special education teams and staff to develop and support individualized education plans (IEPs) aligned with district, state, and federal guidelines.Provide behavior-related training and guidance to staff, promoting effective behavior management strategies.Utilize data-driven insights to inform programming decisions and enhance student success.Employ de-escalation techniques, reinforce positive behaviors, and manage crisis situations calmly and effectively.Ensure compliance with school policies, procedures, and safety standards, including use of restrictive procedures when necessary.Work cooperatively with Behavior Specialists, Special Education Administrators, and other relevant staff members.Preferred Qualifications:Certified BCBA (Board Certified Behavior Analyst) or Special Education Teacher with a valid Tier 3 or Tier 4 Minnesota teaching license.Experience with positive behavior supports and intervention strategies in school settings.Strong communication and teamwork skills.Ability to handle crisis situations calmly and adapt programming as needed.Note:Registered Behavior Technicians (RBT) are not eligible to apply.Locations Supported:Ramsey Elementary (Ramsey) Madison Elementary (Blaine) Rum River Elementary (Andover) Jefferson Elementary (Blaine) This role offers a valuable opportunity to make a positive impact on students academic and behavioral success within a supportive school environment.Candidates with the necessary qualifications and a commitment to fostering positive student outcomes are encouraged to apply.Submit your resume and a PDF copy of your license to the designated coordinator to be considered for this opportunity.Start making a difference in student lives today!
