Job Overview Join our dedicated team as a School Bus Assistant and play a vital role in ensuring the safety, comfort, and well-being of students during their daily transportation. In this energetic position, you will support the bus driver in managing student behavior, assisting children with special needs, and maintaining a positive environment on the bus. Your enthusiasm and commitment will help create a secure and welcoming atmosphere for all young learners as they travel to and from school. Responsibilities Assist the bus driver in supervising students during transit, ensuring they are seated safely and behaving appropriately Support children with special education needs by providing additional care, guidance, and assistance as required Implement behavior management strategies to promote respectful and safe conduct on the bus Help children board and disembark safely, especially those requiring extra support or accommodations Communicate effectively with students, parents, and school staff to address concerns or provide updates Maintain a clean and organized bus environment, ensuring safety equipment is in good condition Respond promptly to emergencies or incidents, following established safety protocols and reporting procedures Requirements Prior experience working with children or in childcare settings is highly desirable Knowledge of behavior management techniques and conflict resolution skills Basic first aid certification to handle minor injuries or health issues on the bus Experience with special education or working with students with diverse needs is a plus Strong communication skills to interact positively with children, parents, and school personnel Ability to remain calm and composed in challenging situations while enforcing safety rules Valid transportation or school bus assistant certification (if applicable) depending on local regulations Join us in making a difference in students’ daily lives!
