School Bus Driver

Position Type: Transportation/Bus Driver Date Posted: 4/11/2026 Location: Transportation Date Available: 2026-2027 School Year CDL Required Primary Purpose: Ensure safe and orderly transportation of students on assigned route. Operate school bus that transports students and other authorized personnel to and from schools or other designated location. Probationary Period: First two months of each current school year will serve as a probationary period for all drivers. Qualifications: Education/Certification Valid Texas commercial driver's license (Class B), with P&S endorsements Acceptable driving record High School Diploma or GED Special Knowledge/Skills Must be at least 21 years of age Ability to pass alcohol and drug test Ability to complete required bus driver safety training Ability to follow written and verbal instructions Ability to communicate effectively Knowledge of student discipline procedure Ability to manage student behavior Ability to operate bus Experience Previous school bus driver experience preferred Major Responsibilities and Duties: Vehicle Operation Follow assigned route and adhere to established schedules. Drive bus to and from extracurricular activities as assigned. Check bus for mechanical defects before and after each operation and notify supervisor of needed repairs. Report all accidents, vehicle damage, student injuries, and mechanical failures. Complete required reports. Keep records on rider attendance. Keep assigned bus clean and fueled.
