Job Overview We are seeking a dynamic and strategic School Business Manager to lead the financial and operational functions of our educational institution. This vital role combines financial expertise, strategic planning, and leadership to ensure the school's resources are managed efficiently, compliance standards are met, and organizational goals are achieved. The ideal candidate will bring a proactive approach to fiscal management, risk analysis, and business development, fostering a sustainable and thriving school environment. Duties Oversee all financial operations, including budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, and cash flow analysis to support strategic decision-making. Manage accounting functions such as general ledger reconciliation, accounts payable and receivable, cost control, and account analysis in accordance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and IFRS (International Financial Reporting Standards). Lead compliance management efforts by ensuring adherence to regulatory reporting requirements, governmental accounting standards, ASC 606 revenue recognition standards, and other relevant regulations. Develop and implement risk management strategies to mitigate financial and operational risks across the school’s activities. Coordinate treasury management activities including investment management, cash flow optimization, and fiscal planning to maximize resource utilization. Drive business development initiatives aimed at expanding revenue streams and fostering partnerships that support the school's mission. Prepare detailed financial statements, reports, and analyses that interpret complex financial concepts for stakeholders. Supervise the finance team and collaborate with senior leadership on strategic planning, cost management, and financial analysis projects. Ensure accurate bookkeeping practices and maintain a robust internal control environment to safeguard assets. Requirements Proven experience in corporate accounting with a strong background in non-profit or educational finance preferred. Extensive knowledge of IAS (International Accounting Standards), IFRS, GAAP, and governmental accounting standards. Demonstrated expertise in financial analysis, risk analysis, budget development, forecasting, and cost management. Strong understanding of regulatory reporting requirements and compliance management frameworks. Proficiency with financial software systems for general ledger accounting, balance sheet reconciliation, accounts payable/receivable processing, and financial report writing. Excellent leadership skills with the ability to manage teams effectively while fostering a collaborative work environment. Exceptional communication skills for preparing financial reports and interpreting complex data for diverse audiences. Ability to handle multiple priorities with precision under tight deadlines while maintaining high attention to detail. Relevant professional certifications such as CPA (Certified Public Accountant), CMA (Certified Management Accountant), or equivalent are highly desirable.
