Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated School Occupational Therapist to join our educational team, providing essential therapeutic services to students across various age groups. The ideal candidate will support students' development by implementing individualized therapy plans, assisting with activities of daily living (ADLs), and promoting functional independence within the school environment. This role offers an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of children with diverse needs, including those with autism, disabilities, or requiring early intervention services. Responsibilities Develop and implement personalized occupational therapy plans tailored to each student's unique needs and goals. Assist students with ADLs such as dressing, grooming, and fine motor skills to enhance independence. Conduct assessments to evaluate students' sensory processing, motor skills, and functional abilities. Collaborate with teachers, parents, and multidisciplinary teams to coordinate care plans and ensure consistency across settings. Support discharge planning and transition strategies for students moving between educational or therapeutic environments. Work with students with autism, disabilities, or other developmental delays to improve motor coordination and sensory integration. Document progress and maintain detailed records in compliance with school policies and healthcare regulations. Participate in team meetings, case management activities, and professional development opportunities related to pediatric therapy. Experience Prior experience working in school settings is highly preferred. Experience assisting with ADLs, discharge planning, and working with individuals with autism or disabilities is desirable. Background in acute care, ICU experience, or inpatient/outpatient clinic work is beneficial but not required. Familiarity with early intervention programs, geriatrics, occupational health, skilled nursing facilities, post-acute care, home health, or outpatient therapy enhances candidacy. Knowledge of physiology, medical terminology, anatomy, and speech therapy principles is advantageous for comprehensive patient care. Proven ability to develop effective care plans and manage casework within pediatric populations is essential for success in this role.
