Position Type: Student Support Services/Psychologist Date Posted: 3/9/2026 Location: District Wide School Psychologist This is presently a one (1) year position to provide support to schools with staff leave of absences. Position may be re-evaluated for the 2027-2028 school year. At Helena Public schools, our vision is to foster dynamic educational experiences that prepare all students for life. As a School Psychologist , you contribute to this mission by evaluating pupils referred as potential candidates for a Special Education program. You will work as part of a team that serves nearly 8,000 students at 15 campuses across Helena. Starting salary is $61,632 - $69,299.41 based on experience. The tentative work period for this position is August 25, 2026 through June 9, 2027. Some of what you will do: Conduct extensive psychological examinations of referred students. Participate in case conferences when referred students are involved, or as requested. Serve as a resource person concerning learning disabilities for other school personnel. Interpret diagnoses to school personnel, other concerned professionals, parents and students. Make recommendations on ways to assist a student referred for examination. Who we are looking for: To become part of this dedicated team, you possess a Masters' degree in school psychology or equivalent; a valid School Psychologist license through the Montana Office of Public Instruction (OPI) at the time of employment, and at least one (1) year of successful experience as a school psychologist. The ideal candidate is a Nationally Certified School Psychologist (NCSP). Successful candidates will be frequently required to sit, walk, stand. The noise level in the work environme
