Overview “Shining Christ’s light, creating hope and inspiring leaders for a new tomorrow” Reports directly to the NCCA Administrator. The School Security Officer is responsible for the overall safety, training and leadership of Security and Safety at NCCA. This includes the students, parents and Staff members. Duties Security awareness of the building and grounds at the Big Red Barn. Must have a license to carry. Must acquire personal liability insurance for carrying. Required to keep up with the license by performing necessary requirements. Monitors the doors, windows and security cameras. Assures that security policies are followed by students, staff and parents. Leads and sets up all training meetings for all Staff members as needed by working directly with the NCCA Administrator. Carries out and manages the policies outlined in the NCCA Safety Manual as well as those in the NCCA Handbook. Manage any facility changes that are needed by working with the NCCA Administrator, the School Board and the FWCC Leadership. Attends School events that require a security presence. Attends Benzie County Management Meetings. Responsible for creating a good relationship with students, staff, parents and church staff. Make the NCCA Administrator aware of needs or concerns that come up. Write grants for equipment, supplies, or wages as deemed necessary. Is willing to stop any form of violence from happening, whatever is required. Is willing to have equipment available for use in a required situation. Requirements Proven experience in security, law enforcement, military service, or related fields is highly desirable. Certification in first aid and CPR is preferred; willingness to obtain these certifications upon hire is required. Knowledge of CCTV surveillance systems, security protocols, and loss prevention practices. Strong conflict management skills with the ability to remain calm under pressure. Ability to perform physical duties such as patrolling the campus on foot or in a vehicle for extended periods. Excellent communication skills for effective interaction with students, staff, visitors, and emergency responders. Prior experience with law enforcement or military service is a plus but not mandatory. Must follow the NCCA School Security Officer Code of Conduct: Code of Conduct: The School Security Officer must exhibit calm, restrained behavior at all events. The School Security Officer must be observant of all entrances, people, activities, etc. to be alert to any situation that might occur. The School Security Officer must keep all activities and situations confidential, except for the other team members, NCCA Administrator, School Board and FWCC Leadership. The School Security Officer should conduct themselves in a positive manner with upholding the rules, activities, staff, and mission of NCCA. The School Security Officer is required to keep permits, certificates, etc. updated with regard to weapons, security, health and safety.
