Little City Montessori is an independent preschool with locations in Old Kensington and Northern Liberties, serving students toddler through elementary. LCM believes children should be nurtured and celebrated as individuals in order for them unlock their love for learning and build on their natural curiosity. Overview: The School Support Associate plays a vital dual role in our school community—supporting the smooth daily operations of the school and providing consistent instructional aid as a Montessori classroom support teacher. In collaboration with the Director of Operations and the Administrative Assistant, this team member helps ensure an organized, welcoming, and responsive environment for both staff and students. Key Responsibilities: Operations & Administrative Support Review and complete daily, weekly, monthly, and ongoing operations team job duties. Complete individual assignments, small group projects, and research; take the lead on implementing school systems. Enter data into platforms used by Little City (Google Sheets, Finalsite, Ages and Stages Questionnaires, Brightwheel, etc.). Support package deliveries between locations; cross-reference with the purchase order (PO) system and distribute to teachers or storage closets. Take inventory of school supplies and update the PO system with needed items. Check classroom snack lists and note consumable needs. Visit other campus as requested by the administration for administrative tasks and teacher support. Errands & Facilities Run school errands (local grocery store, post office, etc). Keep the staff lounge clean, organized, and stocked at the start and end of each day. Restock adult bathrooms and the multipurpose bathroom with necessary supplies. Conduct daily walkthroughs of school spaces to ensure hallways and shared areas are neat, clutter-free, and properly set up. Water the planters as scheduled. Sweep outside areas 2–3 times per day. Classroom & Student Support Serve as a Montessori Classroom Apprentice, supporting and learning through subbing opportunities. Observe Montessori classrooms to support professional development for self and faculty. Step into classrooms as a Montessori support guide (staff absences, breaks, or emergent needs). Support dismissals: greet parents, assist transitions, check students out, and manage frequent aftercare dismissal changes. Qualifications: One year of experience with toddler or preschool aged children Prior experience in a Montessori or early childhood education setting is preferred. Strong flexibility and adaptability to support multiple classrooms and operational tasks. Excellent organizational and time-management skills. Positive, proactive attitude and a team-oriented mindset. Comfortable with multitasking and shifting between classroom and operational duties. Practices punctuality with a reliable means of transportation All mandated clearances and trainings as required References and a proven track record of caring and nurturing children Legally authorized to work in the United States Ability to lift 30 lbs The start date is August 18, 2026. This is a 12-month, full-time position. Monday through Friday, 7:30am - 4:30pm (with a one-hour unpaid break) or 10:00am - 5:30pm (with a 30 minute unpaid break).
