POSITION: Secondary Science Teacher, Manchester Jr/Sr High School (Chemistry) SUMMARY of JOB: To provide the students under his/her direct supervision a quality educational program, which is appropriate for the assigned students, that meets their ability and appropriate for the subject and growth, and personal characteristics. QUALIFICATIONS: Required: Valid Michigan Secondary Teaching Certificate in Science (DI), Chemistry (DC), or Physical Science (DP) Demonstrates knowledge of the Michigan Merit Curriculum/Common Core Standards/HS and Grade Level Content Expectations Competent in using a variety of technology applications related to classroom management, differentiated instruction Student focused Maintains professional standards Possess strong interpersonal skills Possess strong technology skills Experience with MTSS Ability to work collaboratively with other teachers Ability to establish and maintain professional rapport with students, staff and families Maintains a strict level of confidentiality Maintains personal and professional flexibility Possess a high level of organization Preferred Experience: Experience teaching Chemistry, Forensic Science, Anatomy Experience with Advance Placement RESPONSIBILITIES: Develops and administers school art curriculum consistent with school district goals and objectives. Develops lesson plans and instructional materials and translates lesson plans into learning experiences so as to best utilize the available time for instruction. Establish clear objectives for all lessons, units, and projects and communicate those objectives to students. Employ differentiated strategies
