Job Description
onsemi is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Equipment Engineering & Maintenance Manager to lead and optimize the performance, reliability, and sustainment of manufacturing equipment supporting Automation, Metrology, and Pumps & Abatement. This role is critical to ensure safe, reliable, and cost‑effective equipment operation in a 24/7 semiconductor manufacturing environment. Area: Automation, Metrology, Pumps, and Abatement Shift: Days (supports 24/7 operations) Equipment: Automation: PRI AeroTrak, PRI stockers, PST Sorter Metrology: KLA, Therma-wave, JEOL, Bio-Rad, CDE Resmap, Nikon/Leica scopes Pumps & Abatement: Dry pumps (Edwards/Ebara), POU Abatement (Edwards TPU/GRC) Responsibilities Responsibilities Lead and develop a team of 18 direct reports (3 Equipment Engineers, 15 Maintenance Technicians) supporting 24/7 operations. Own equipment performance KPIs, including uptime, line yield, and cost. Provide technical leadership and escalation support for complex equipment issues across Automation, Metrology, and Pumps & Abatement. Owns one of the site’s most impactful ESG investments, leading a multi‑year abatement expansion project that reduces greenhouse gas emissions in support of the company’s Net-Zero initiative. Drive continuous improvements in equipment reliability, cost efficiency, safety, and quality through targeted electrical and mechanical upgrades. Drive equipment reliability and uptime improvement initiatives, including RCA, FMEA, LSS, and PM optimization. Partner with Process Engineering, Production, Quality, Facilities, and EHS to resolve tool, process, and safety issues. Ensure safe and compliant execution of maintenance activities, including adherence to LOTO, chemical safety, and site EHS standards. Maintain equipment documentation, PMs, work instructions, certifications, and training requirements. Plan, manage, and control a $1.41M annual spare parts and consumables budget, including forecasting and cost optimization. Manage supplier relationships, service strategies, and spare part repair loops to reduce the total cost of ownership. Support audits, change management, and continuous improvement initiatives. Qualifications Minimum Qualifications BS in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, Chemical, Mechatronics, or related). 5+ years of experience in semiconductor equipment engineering or maintenance. 2+ years of experience leading or supervising technical teams. Demonstrated success in change management and continuous improvement initiatives. Strong working knowledge of equipment reliability methods, maintenance systems (CMMS), and KPI‑driven performance management. Preferred Qualifications MBA. Experience in semiconductor or high-tech manufacturing environments. Budget ownership experience for maintenance, spares, or consumables.
