Job Description Position: Onsite Security Officer Classification: Non-Exempt Salary Range: Between $15 - $18 per hour Reports to: Community Association Manager JOB DESCRIPTION We are a high-rise residential condominium in Brickell looking for a highly motivated individual for a position in our Concierge Security Department. Summary/Objective This position is under the direct supervision of the Community Association Manager, appointed Security Supervisors and Shift Leads and are responsible for the protection, safeguarding and security of assets, personnel, customers and all visitors. Essential Functions Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions, which shall include but are not limited to: Performs security patrols. Enforces identification badge procedures. Protects property from theft, embezzlement, sabotage, fire and accidents. Investigates and writes reports on accidents, incidents, suspicious activities, safety and fire hazards and other security related situations. Provides any needed assistance to customers, employees and visitors following the department's procedures. Serves as training officer to new security staff. Act as a greeter to all tenants and visitors. Foot patrol of interior and exterior areas of assigned locations. Observe and report suspicious activities and persons. Write detailed narrative reports and maintain daily activity reports (DARs). Enforce rules, regulations, policies, procedures, and respond to emergency situations requiring security assistance. Assist with the receiving, registration and disbursement of owner and resident packages. May perform duties of a security sergeant during required coverage as assigned and performs other related duties as assigned by a security sergeant, lieutenant and/or security department manager. Supervisory Responsibility This position has no supervisory responsibilities. Work Environment This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines. Essential physical and mental functions include but are not limited to the following: Stand or walk constantly (for up to an entire shift) on various surfaces (tile, concrete, carpet, grass, sand, dirt, etc.). Climb stairs, ramps, or ladders occasionally during shift. Occasionally bend/twist at waist/knees/neck to perform various duties. Occasionally lift or carry up to 40 pounds. Run as needed. Constant use of both hands and arms in reaching/handling/grasping/fingering while using phone, notepad, writing reports, and other administrative tasks. Constant use of eyes (correctable vision to normal level required) to observe, read, interact with public and co-workers, view security monitors; includes hand/eye coordination. Read, understand and clearly speak English and Spanish; constantly use speech and hearing (correctable to normal level required) in communicating with public/co-workers, giving and receiving instructions, using phones. Work in various environments including adverse outdoor conditions such as cold, rain or heat.
