Security Officer ($26.50/hour) (part-time)

POSITION OPEN ANNOUNCEMENT Safety Officer - Part-Time (1st and 2nd Shifts Available) General Description: The Safety Officer will be responsible for the security and protection of all MVCTC property. Responsibilities will include assisting the safety coordinator and principals in carrying out board policies and school regulations as directed. The safety officer will assist the coordinator in providing outside surveillance, inside security, prohibiting unauthorized entrance to MVCTC property, securing district property and performing safety and welfare checks. Qualifications Any combination of education and experience equivalent to high school graduation, a minimum of two years of experience in a security related field or in law enforcement, and possess an Ohio Peace Officer Training Council Peace Officer certificate Ability to exercise good judgment and make sound decisions Have first aid and CPR training Ability to handle situations inherent in working with teenagers and young adults Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing Possess a valid Ohio Driver’s license Sufficient mobility, dexterity, and strength to respond to situations quickly Ability to work flexible hours Salary: $26.50 per hour Last Day to Apply: Until position is filled Apply Online at: www.mvctc.com/employment For Information Contact: Carl Bush, Safety Coordinator Miami Valley Career Technology Center 6800 Hoke Road, Englewood, OH 45315 cbush@mvctc.com (937) 854-9306
