Summary The Security Officer provides high-quality services for patients, families, visitors, and team members by ensuring a safe and healthy environment. Primary duties include enforcing hospital regulations, policies, and procedures while performing security functions such as patrolling the facility/property. This role is a trained responder for high-risk patients as part of the System Safety and Preventing Violence (SSPV) programs. This position is responsible for maintaining a positive working relationship with team members, various agencies, and the public to carry out effective and professional communications and procedures. Responsibilities Respond calmly and urgently to incidents of workplace violence, fire, medical emergencies, bomb threats, flooding, water discharge, elevator emergencies, hazardous materials, inclement weather, and many other disastrous events. Assist with all security needs/concerns from patients, families, staff, and visitors. Conduct thorough weapons screening processes to prevent the entry of weapons into the facility.
