This position is ECB status - requires a minimum number of worked hours per month as needed by the department; limited benefit offerings. Nights Shift: ECB (Emergency Call Basis) Saturdays & Sundays 6:30pm - 7:00am Job Summary: The Security Officer maintains a safe and secure environment by patrolling premises, monitoring surveillance equipment, and enforcing security policies. This role helps prevent theft, vandalism, and unauthorized access while ensuring the safety of Saint Francis Health System (SFHS) patients, visitors, staff, equipment, supplies, facilities, and hospital contents. Minimum Education: High School Diploma or GED. Licensure, Registration and/or Certification: CLEET Armed Security Guard License. Certified Peace Officers must obtain CLEET Armed Security Guard Certification within ninety days (90) of hire. Work Experience: Minimum 1 year of related security experience, preferred. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Ability to utilize effective verbal, written, and listening skills to effectively communicate with the public. Ability to utilize positive interpersonal skills to interact with patients, visitors, and hospital staff. Ability to maintain professional and courteous during highly stressful and fast-paced situations. Essential Functions and Responsibilities: Actively patrols premises to monitor activity, controls access to restricted areas, responds to emergencies, prevents unauthorized entry, and detects suspicious behavior. Ensures compliance with site rules, policies, and safety procedures. Protects patients, staff, and visitors, enforces hospital policies, and coordinates with law enforcement when necessary.
