Job Description Join Dewberry as a Security/Technology Designer: Shape the Future of Engineering in Nashville! Dewberry is currently seeking a Security/Technology (Low Voltage) Designer to support the Technology group within our Engineering Design Center located in Nashville, TN . Our growing, fast-paced, multi-disciplined engineering department seeks a client-focused, highly motivated, organized, and outgoing designer looking to expand his/her technical and management skills. As such, we are looking for candidates with technology design backgrounds who are able to employ areas of technical strength while also growing their skill set in other technical disciplines and management. Required certifications include Registered Communications Distribution Designer (RCDD), Certified Protection Professional (CPP), or Physical Security Professional (PSP) certifications. The Security/Technology Group is a specialized group of individuals responsible for security electronics, telecommunications infrastructure, and audio/visual designs for a variety of project types, including K-12, Higher Education, Healthcare, Justice/Public Safety, and Commercial. The individual will be responsible for performing and overseeing the work committed to in proposals, and performing and leading the appropriate resources to do the work for each discipline area. The individual will assist Project Managers by providing design resources – a design team - to help meet the client’s desires and budget. Duties would also include some involvement in direct sales and assisting with sales efforts for multidisciplinary projects, and providing the design/engineering resources and guidance to accomplish our commitments. Responsibilities Provide technical design for discipline area. Peer review project work for the discipline area. Work with team members in establishing/improving standards for discipline area. Adherence to project design schedules. Adherence to discipline project budgets. Pay attention to project scope during the design process to identify potential additional services. Provide general updates of projects (status in the process, tasks to complete, percentage complete currently, etc.) Identify milestone dates when each discipline should provide information, at each phase, to allow sufficient time for good design coordination. Provide 'on-the-spot' advice and decisions, technical and cost estimates. Coordinate with all of the disciplines involved, including outside consultants. Required Skills & Required Experience H.S.
