Role Description This is a full-time, on-site role based in Santa Barbara, CA. As a Senator within the Associated Students of UC Santa Barbara, you will represent the undergraduate student body by advocating for their concerns, promoting initiatives, and participating in decision-making processes. Responsibilities include engaging with students to address their needs, attending meetings, conducting research to support policy development, and collaborating with university administrators and committees. You will also provide input on budgetary and organizational planning to benefit the student community. Qualifications Strong interpersonal and Customer Service skills to effectively engage with students and stakeholders Research skills and an understanding of Politics to analyze issues and inform decision-making Experience with Teaching or educational outreach to effectively communicate and advocate for student needs Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools for creating documents, presentations, and managing data effectively Strong organizational and time management skills to handle multiple responsibilities efficiently A demonstrated commitment to leadership, inclusivity, and student advocacy Previous experience or involvement in student organizations or governance is a plus
