Job Description
Senior Accountant Join a well-established commercial real estate organization seeking a skilled team member for its dynamic accounting and finance department. Senior Accountant Requirements & Qualifications Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance. 47 years of real estate accounting experience. Solid understanding of property-level accounting, CAM, accruals, and financial reporting. Strong consolidation and analytical experience. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel. Experience with accounting software (Yardi preferred). Ability to supervise or mentor staff. Strong communication, organization, and time management skills. Capable of working under pressure to meet deadlines without sacrificing accuracy. Senior Accountant Preferred Background & Skills CPA certification highly desirable. Public accounting background. Experience preparing, reviewing, and analyzing financial statements for multiple properties. Familiarity with budgeting and reforecasting processes. Superior analytical and problem-solving skills. Senior Accountant Day-to-Day Responsibilities Prepare, review, and ensure accurate reporting of corporate and property-level accounting functions in line with GAAP and IFRS. Manage monthly, quarterly, and year-end closing processes, including consolidations, reconciliations, and financial analyses. Prepare and review monthly financial statements for a portfolio of real estate properties. Coordinate and prepare CAM and operating expense reconciliations in adherence to lease terms. Maintain general ledger activity for partnership entities and track significant transactions. Support process documentation, budgeting, and reforecasting efforts. Prepare analyses and investor reports; support annual audits. Mentor junior staff and collaborate with asset management on accounting questions and projects.
