Job Description
Job Overview We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Senior Accountant to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of accounting principles and practices, including GAAP and IFRS, and will have experience in various accounting environments such as non-profit, governmental, and public accounting. This role will involve overseeing financial reporting, managing accounts payable and receivable, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements. The Senior Accountant will play a critical role in financial management and analysis, contributing to the overall success of our organization. Responsibilities Prepare and analyze financial statements in accordance with GAAP and IFRS standards. Oversee accounts payable and accounts receivable processes to ensure accuracy and timeliness. Conduct balance sheet reconciliation and general ledger reconciliation to maintain accurate financial records. Manage cash flow through effective cash management practices. Prepare regulatory reports and ensure compliance with all relevant laws and regulations. Assist in budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis to support strategic decision-making. Write detailed financial reports that communicate findings clearly to stakeholders. Utilize accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage, or Xero for efficient financial management. Perform account analysis and account reconciliation to ensure the integrity of financial data. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to provide insights on financial concepts and performance metrics. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA or equivalent certification preferred. Proven experience in corporate accounting, public accounting, or non-profit accounting environments. Strong knowledge of SOX compliance, technical accounting standards, and regulatory reporting requirements. Proficiency in cash management practices and financial report writing. Familiarity with double entry bookkeeping principles and general ledger accounting. Excellent analytical skills with a strong understanding of financial concepts including budgeting, forecasting, and financial management. Experience using various accounting software packages; proficiency in QuickBooks, Sage, or Xero is highly desirable. Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively. Excellent communication skills for conveying complex financial information clearly.
