Our client is a public accounting firm. They seek a Senior Auditor to join their Woodbury, NY office. Responsibilities Lead and execute audits of employee benefit plans, including 401(k), pension, and defined benefit plans Plan and perform audit procedures in accordance with GAAS, ERISA, and DOL requirements Review plan financial statements, disclosures, and Form 5500 filings for accuracy and compliance Test plan assets, contributions, distributions, participant data, and eligibility in accordance with plan documents Evaluate internal controls related to plan administration and financial reporting Identify audit issues and communicate findings, risks, and recommendations to clients Prepare and review audit workpapers, financial statements, and supporting documentation Supervise and mentor junior auditors, providing guidance and reviewing their work Coordinate with plan administrators, trustees, and third-party administrators (TPAs) Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, including ERISA, DOL, and IRS guidelines Track audit progress, manage timelines, and ensure timely completion of engagements Requirements Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field 4–7+ years of audit experience, with a focus on employee benefit plans preferred Strong knowledge of GAAS, ERISA, and DOL audit requirements Experience with Form 5500 and employee benefit plan financial statements Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and attention to detail skills Strong communication and client relationship skills Ability to manage multiple engagements and meet deadlines Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and audit software/tools Experience in public accounting or a CPA firm strongly preferred CPA license or active pursuit strongly preferred Job ID # 46409 Tagged as: In-Office
