Description Senior Bookkeeper / Accounts Payable Specialist Location: 100% Remote | Employment Type: Contract to Hire A privately held investment and asset management organization is seeking a Senior Bookkeeper / Accounts Payable Specialist to support day-to-day accounting operations across a multi-entity structure. The organization oversees a diversified portfolio that includes investment-related entities, real estate holdings, and affiliated operating businesses. Reporting to senior finance leadership, this role is responsible for core bookkeeping and accounting functions with a strong emphasis on accounts payable, reconciliations, and financial record maintenance. The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with multiple entities and priorities. Key Responsibilities Manage the full accounts payable process, including invoice review, approvals, and payment coordination Perform bank, credit card, and account reconciliations Maintain accurate general ledger records and assist with monthly close activities Track intercompany transactions, allocations, and related accounting activity Assist with cash tracking, reporting, and financial organization Support external accountants with tax preparation and audit requests Maintain organized financial records and supporting documentation Contribute to workflow improvements and accounting process enhancements Qualifications 5–10 years of bookkeeping or accounting experience Strong background in accounts payable and general bookkeeping Advanced proficiency with QuickBooks or similar accounting platforms Experience supporting multiple entities or business lines High attention to detail with strong organizational skills Ability to manage deadlines and prioritize effectively in a dynamic environment Preferred Background Experience within investment management, family office, real estate, or alternative asset environments Exposure to month-end close procedures and financial reporting support Familiarity with expense management or accounting automation tools Ideal Candidate Traits Detail-oriented and dependable Process-driven with strong follow-through Comfortable operating in a hands-on, fast-paced setting Collaborative team player with a proactive mindset Compensation Competitive compensation package commensurate with experience and qualifications.
