Job Description
We are a leading Chinese supplier of industrial automation and components, offering products including servo motors, drives, industrial robots, PLCs, and frequency converters. We are currently recruiting a local Business Development (BD) professional based in San Jose, primarily targeting major internet/hardware companies such as Apple, Google, and Meta, and their OEM/manufacturing ecosystems, to drive strategic partnerships and long-term supply chain projects. Responsibilities Proactively develop and maintain business relationships with Apple, Google, Meta, and their Tier 1/Tier 2 contract manufacturers, ODMs/EMS providers, and core system integrators in the Western United States (centered around Silicon Valley). Identify opportunities for sourcing and replacing automation components and technologies in clients' hardware manufacturing (servers, data centers, consumer electronics, edge devices, industrial automation), and develop and drive business solutions. Initiate and drive the business process from requirements confirmation, technical coordination, prototype/trial production, certification to mass production, collaborating with product, R&D, supply chain, quality, and legal teams. Design and negotiate commercial terms (price, delivery, warranty, after-sales support, NRE, agreement framework, etc.) to ensure contract compliance and company interests. Manage and maintain the sales/project pipeline, regularly report market insights, competitive landscape and risks, and handle customer bidding/RFQ processes. Assist the local after-sales/engineering team in providing customer technical support, escalating issues, and conducting root cause analysis, driving rapid response and improvement. Participate in trade shows and industry conferences, and represent the company in technical/business presentations to enhance brand and market awareness. Qualifications Bachelor's degree or above, with preference given to candidates with a degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Automation, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field; MBA or Business Administration background preferred. 5+ years of experience in BD/business/key account management in the US market, with at least 3 years of experience working with large internet companies or their hardware manufacturing supply chains (ODM/EMS/Tier 1/Tier 2). Familiar with the technical and supply chain processes of servo motors, drives, industrial robots, PLCs, frequency converters, or related automation components, and able to effectively communicate technically with the engineering team. Familiar with corporate procurement/supplier onboarding processes (including component certification, trial production verification, quality system requirements such as ISO/TS/PPAP, etc.). Excellent business negotiation skills and contract comprehension; able to independently manage complex business processes and negotiations. Strong cross-cultural communication and teamwork skills; able to act as a bridge between the US and Chinese teams; bilingual in Chinese and English preferred (must possess fluent written and spoken English). Able to travel (within the US and, when necessary, to China). Work Location: San Jose, CA (must have long-term legal work authorization in the US: Green Card/US Citizen/Valid Work Visa). Preferred Qualifications: Experience with direct collaboration with Apple/Google/Meta or their major ODM/EMS/contract manufacturers. Experience in following up on the entire process of electronics/data center/consumer electronics hardware projects from prototype to mass production. Local industry network (purchasing, engineering, supply chain contacts).
