Formula 1 cars, skyscrapers, ships, space exploration vehicles, and many of the objects we see in our daily lives are being conceived and manufactured using our Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) software. As a Cloud Solution Architect, you’ll apply specialised knowledge of containers, Kubernetes and public/private cloud infrastructure design & operation, to assist with the development and onward operation of a multi-cloud container runtime platform supporting Siemens Cloud-enabled products & services. Design, develop, modify, and implement software programming for products (both internal and external) with focus on surpassing customer expectations, on achieving high quality and on-time delivery. Responsible for ensuring the overall functional quality of the released product on all required platforms and mechanisms. Ability to understand complex products, solutions, and problems. Creates, documents, and executes software designs which may involve significant re-architecture of important systems, defining and coordinating implementation of wide-reaching impacts. Acts as Technical lead of projects that span multiple areas of a product. Broad and direct consulting with customers in regard to future upgrades and products. Sets the technical direction for one area of a product. Promotes innovation through the ability to introduce new technology/knowledge into multiple areas of a product and to our people. This position makes significant contributions towards the delivery of DevOps solutions that support best-in-class cloud-based microservice applications. You’ll be a member of a dynamic, cross-functional, geographically dispersed team, working with subject matter experts from Infrastructure engineering & architecture, software engineering, DEVOPS, security, networks, firewalls, computing & storage to deliver a global, powerful, scalable, cost-efficient, highly available platform that meets the changing needs of the business. Has excellent written and verbal communication skills Responsibilities Develop and maintain highly scalable, efficient, performant & resilient capabilities, meeting availability targets of 99.99%. Leverage your advanced experience of Public and Private cloud environments and container runtime environments, working with other specialists of Networks, Firewall, Security, computing & storage technologies to develop, operate and support the platform. Using Infrastructure As Code (IAC) best practices, create automated infrastructure within AWS/Azure, on on-premise environments, including package management, application load/configuration, systems monitoring and administration. Implement and maintain CI/CD tools, services, and processes to support development, QA, and customer value realisation teams. Deliver improvements to source code management, deployment, operations, maintenance, cost control, security, monitoring, and audit tools and processes. Constantly strive to reduce toil and deliver capabilities that enable Siemens to maintain a competitive advantage in the marketplace. Ensure the production environment is operating in accordance with established procedures and best practices. Provide escalated support for high-severity and critical network events Required Knowledge/Skills, Education, And Experience Bachelor’s Degree or higher. 10-15 years of relevant experience Advanced knowledge of Linux OS and the open-source ecosystem. Advanced expertise with Amazon Web Services (AWS), including ECS, VPC, EKS, IAM, with experience in equivalent Azure technologies also acceptable. Proficient in automation tools such as Jenkins, GitLab-CI, as well as Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like Terraform, CloudFormation, and Ansible. Strong experience in designing and implementing DevOps solutions, including automated infrastructure, CMDB, GitOps, and ChatOps
