Job Description Turner & Townsend are seeking an experienced Senior Cost Manager / Quantity Surveyor to lead day‑to‑day client engagement on a large, multi‑phase data center program for a high‑profile technology client. This role requires strong leadership in cost planning, estimating, change control, and commercial management across complex, phased construction packages. The successful candidate will be highly client‑facing, self‑motivated, and collaborative, providing leadership while delivering a high‑quality, value‑driven cost management service aligned with Turner & Townsend’s values and vision. Responsibilities: Lead estimating, cost planning, and change management across multiple construction phases, including the negotiation of change orders throughout the project lifecycle Produce, present, and maintain detailed cost plans, forecasts, and funding data at key design and construction milestones Work collaboratively with designers, contractors, and project managers to develop, reconcile, and validate construction cost estimates Review contractor and subcontractor pricing, challenge assumptions, and lead commercial negotiations to achieve fair and accurate contract values Manage post‑contract cost control, including valuations, cost checks, contingency management, and commitment tracking Prepare and issue monthly cost reports, executive summaries, and variance analyses for client review Coordinate all sources of cost information, including trade pricing, quantities from design consultants, and direct supplier inputs Support value engineering and optioneering exercises, providing clear commercial input to inform design decisions Ensure effective cost auditing, valuation processes, and timely agreement of final accounts Compile built cost data for benchmarking and continuous improvement Proactively resolve commercial and scheduling issues with minimal supervision Identify, coach, and mentor team members, fostering high performance and professional development Ensure project delivery aligns with Turner & Townsend’s business management systems, delivery methodologies, and best‑practice standards SOX control responsibilities may be part of this role, which are to be adhered to where applicable. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying, Cost Management, Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field 5–7+ years of experience in a cost management or quantity surveying role within the construction industry Experience leading cost management on medium to large‑scale construction projects of moderate to high complexity Strong knowledge of construction procurement routes, value management, and cost control processes Consultancy experience strongly preferred Professional accreditation (or working towards) such as RICS preferred Excellent written and verbal communication skills Additional Information On-site presence and requirements may change depending on our client's needs.
