Job Summary TYLin is seeking an experienced attorney with 5–9 years of litigation and claims management experience to serve as Senior Counsel, Claims and Litigation. This role will oversee and help drive TYLin’s global claims and litigation management function. The successful candidate will provide centralized strategic oversight of complex claims, litigation, and investigations across all regions, while also directly handling select high-risk or high-exposure matters. Reporting to the Global Compliance Counsel, this position will work in close collaboration with regional in-house attorneys who manage certain claims, disputes, and legal matters within their jurisdictions. The Senior Counsel, Claims and Litigation will provide strategic direction, promote consistency in approach, support early case assessment and risk analysis, and ensure alignment with global legal and insurance strategies. This role is expected to take on supervisory responsibilities over time and will serve as a fully integrated member of the global legal team. Responsibilities & Qualifications What You'll Do: Provide global oversight and strategic direction for the company’s claims, litigation, and arbitration matters across all regions. Establish and promote consistent claims and litigation management processes, reporting standards, and risk assessment protocols for claims and litigation matters worldwide. Oversee and strategically manage outside counsel, including performance and fee management. Aggressively manage legal budgets and associated fees. Serve as a central point of coordination for significant, high-exposure, or precedent-setting matters. Partner and collaborate with regional in-house counsel, who directly manage certain claims and litigation matters to: Ensure alignment with corporate legal strategy and risk tolerance Assess liability exposure, develop strategy, and evaluate insurance coverage issues Develop early case assessments and resolution strategies Directly manage select complex litigation, arbitration, investigations, and claims matters, particularly those involving significant financial exposure, reputational risk, or cross-border complexity. Build and maintain strong relationships with insurance carriers and claims professionals. Maintain and ensure accuracy of the company’s litigation database and calendaring systems. Oversee and manage the company’s e-discovery requirements and processes. Lead or support internal investigations and provide oversight and guidance on investigations conducted by internal teams or outside counsel. Leverage systems, data, and tools to drive efficient execution, reporting consistency, and risk visibility and identify opportunities to improve systems and tools. Provide leadership and mentorship, with future supervisory responsibilities. What You'll Bring: J.D. from an accredited law school with a strong academic background. Active U.S. license to practice law in good standing. 5-9 years of experience in a law firm and/or in-house legal department managing complex litigation, claims, and arbitration matters. Demonstrated experience in engineering and construction-related disputes. Experience managing outside counsel and supervising staff. Proven ability to implement and communicate new processes, including incorporation of software and technology such as case management or risk management systems, SharePoint, Excel, PowerPoint, Power BI, and artificial intelligence (AI) tools like ChatGPT. Proven ability to develop and execute effective case strategies. Strong experience managing electronic discovery processes. Well-established network within litigation law firms and the legal community. Ability to collaborate effectively with business clients, management, opposing counsel, and third-party representatives. Preferred Experience: In-house legal experience. Experience working in a global, multi-cultural environment. Experience working directly with insurance carriers and coverage matters.
