Senior Counsel About the Company Premier investment management firm Industry Investment Management Type Privately Held About the Role The Company is seeking a Senior Counsel to join its legal department. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing legal counsel on all aspects of executive compensation, including the structuring and drafting of various agreements and plans. This role involves close collaboration with internal stakeholders to ensure the competitiveness and compliance of compensation plans, as well as monitoring and advising on changes in laws, regulations, and market trends. The Senior Counsel will also be involved in negotiating the terms of compensation agreements, ensuring compliance with international labor laws, tax regulations, and local standards. Applicants must have a JD from an accredited law school, with active membership in the New York bar or the ability to obtain registered in-house counsel status. A minimum of 4-6 years of experience in a law firm or the legal department of a financial services firm is preferred, with a focus on executive compensation. The role requires a deep knowledge of relevant laws, regulations, and best practices, as well as the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities. Excellent communication, analytical, and collaboration skills are essential, and a solid understanding of employment law, including discrimination, wage and hour, and benefits, is also preferred.
