Please visit Fractal | Intelligence for Imagination for more information about Fractal Overview As part of the Strategic Analytics team for our Insurance Client, the Senior Decision Scientist plays a pivotal role in shaping enterprise insights and influencing strategic decision-making. This role focuses on diagnosing changes in business performance, applying advanced and predictive analytics, and translating complex data into clear narratives that leaders can act on. Position Duties and Responsibilities Drive advanced analytics and insight generation to explain business performance and recommend actions Analyze conversion and conversation trends across time periods, geographies, and customer segments Partner with underwriting teams to evolve business rules using predictive and advanced analytics Apply predictive analytics to improve marketing effectiveness and customer outcomes Translate complex analytical findings into executive-ready narratives, dashboards, and recommendations Serve as a trusted analytics advisor to senior stakeholders across marketing and underwriting Collaborate with enterprise data and engineering teams on pipelines, data quality, and new initiatives Promote analytics best practices, decision science thinking, and data storytelling across the organization Position Requirements Bachelor’s degree in Analytics, Economics, Statistics, Data Science, or related field (Master’s preferred) 5+ years of experience in analytics, decision science, or senior business/data analyst roles Insurance domain experience (preferred), P&C / Personal Lines (Home & Auto) Hands-on experience with advanced and predictive analytics applied to business problems Strong SQL skills and experience working with large datasets Python proficiency (approximately 6–7/10) for analytics and insight generation Experience with BI tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or MicroStrategy Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence senior stakeholders Preferred Qualifications Experience modernizing rule-based underwriting or decision systems Familiarity with Snowflake and cloud-based data platforms Executive reporting and strategic performance analysis experience Ability to mentor junior analysts and promote best practices in data storytelling and analytics. Understanding of enterprise data governance and reporting standards. Active use of AI tools such as ChatGPT or Microsoft Copilot for analytics productivity Pay The wage range for this role takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. The disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled.At Fractal, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case.A reasonable estimate of the current range is: $120,000 - $160,000. In addition, for the current performance period, you may be eligible for a discretionary bonus.
