Senior Engineering Manager - Reliability TestingGrafana Labs is a remote-first, open-source powerhouse.There are more than 20M users of Grafana, the open source visualization tool, around the globe, monitoring everything from beehives to climate change in the Alps.The instantly recognizable dashboards have been spotted everywhere from a NASA launch and Minecraft HQ to Wimbledon and the Tour de France.Grafana Labs also helps more than 3,000 companies -- including Bloomberg, JPMorgan Chase, and eBay -- manage their observability strategies with the Grafana LGTM Stack, which can be run fully managed with Grafana Cloud or self-managed with the Grafana Enterprise Stack, both featuring scalable metrics, logs, and traces.We're scaling fast and staying true to what makes us different:an open-source legacy, a global collaborative culture, and a passion for meaningful work.Our team thrives in an innovation-driven environment where transparency, autonomy, and trust fuel everything we do.You may not meet every requirement, and that's okay.If this role excites you, we'd love you to raise your hand for what could be a truly career-defining opportunity.The OpportunityLead two product-focused squads, Grafana Cloud k6 Frontend and k6 Studio, and play a key role in shaping the future of our reliability testing products.As a Senior Engineering Manager, you'll be at the intersection of people, technology, and product direction.You'll help define how our teams deliver reliable, high-quality experiences that empower engineers worldwide to test and improve system performance with confidence.Working closely with Product and Design, you'll influence technical strategy, strengthen execution, and nurture an environment where talented engineers can grow and do their best work.What Will You Be DoingYou'll manage and develop two distributed engineering teams responsible for delivering reliable, high-quality software.Your day-to-day focus will include driving execution, enabling collaboration, and supporting engineers in achieving both product and personal growth goals.Some of your key Responsibilities:Conduct regular 1:1s and career development sessions to guide engineers' professional growthFoster an inclusive, high-performing team culture built on trust and continuous feedbackPartner with Product and Design to refine roadmaps, align technical priorities, and deliver great user experiencesTranslate product goals into actionable engineering plans and iterative deliverablesContinuously improving how teams collaborate, plan, and execute across disciplinesSupport hiring efforts and team capacity planning in collaboration with People OpsWhat Makes You a Good FitThe ideal candidate combines technical depth with strong leadership and product sense.You are comfortable setting goals, shaping product strategy, and aligning engineering work with broader business and user needs.You take a holistic approach to success by supporting people, improving how teams operate, and helping deliver high-quality, impactful products.You are someone who:Brings a strong software engineering background and senior-level experience building web applications with JavaScript and React, with the ability to engage in technical discussions and guide teams toward making sound technical decisions.Shows a genuine passion for developing people, providing coaching, mentoring, and guidance that help individuals grow and reach their potential.Has a proven record of leading frontend or cross-functional teams at a senior level, with a clear perspective on building efficient, high-performing teams and successfully putting those ideas into practice.Has the ability to wear multiple hats contributing to defining goals, shaping product direction, and gathering feedback from customers.Partners effectively with Product Management, Design, and cross-functional teams to deliver outstanding user experiences.Excels in collaborating with globally distributed engineering teams that operate with a high degree of autonomy and shared ownership.Communicates with clarity and empathy, navigating a remote-first, multicultural environment with professionalism and ease.Adapts readily to change, managing multiple contexts and contributing thoughtfully across several parallel workstreams.Bonus Points ForAdditional experience in any of the following areas will be viewed favorably:Experience with load and performance testing or observability products, either as a customer or vendor.Full-stack experience in building and deploying microservices with Kubernetes.Experience managing multiple engineering teams responsible for distinct products.In Spain, the base compensation range for this role is EUR 103,000 - EUR 129,000.Actual compensation may vary based on level, experience, and skillset as assessed throughout the interview process.All of our roles include Restricted Stock Units (RSUs), giving every team member ownership in Grafana Labs' success.We believe in shared outcomesRSUs help us stay aligned and
