About the Role: The Senior General Ledger (GL) Accountant plays a critical role in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of the organization's financial records. This position is responsible for managing and overseeing the general ledger accounting processes, including month-end and year-end close activities, reconciliations, and financial reporting. The Senior GL Accountant collaborates closely with cross-functional teams to support audit activities and ensure compliance with accounting standards and internal controls. This role requires a detail-oriented professional who can analyze complex financial data, identify discrepancies, and implement corrective actions to maintain accurate financial statements. Ultimately, the Senior GL Accountant contributes to the organization's financial health by providing reliable and timely financial information to support strategic decision-making. Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. Minimum of 5 years of experience in general ledger accounting or a similar role. Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel. Experience with month-end and year-end close processes. Preferred Qualifications: Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or equivalent professional certification. Experience with ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, or NetSuite. Previous experience in a senior or supervisory accounting role. Familiarity with SOX compliance and internal control frameworks. Advanced data analysis skills and experience with financial modeling. Responsibilities: Month end close and general ledger management / reconciliation Summarizes financial status by collecting information Maintaining the G/L Supporting schedules for assets for right of use Fixed and intangible assets, setting up depreciation and authorization schedules Intercompany Transactions Cross function with AR, AP and Sales Work proactively and cooperatively with other team members. Prepare accurate monthly financial statements and cost reports Other duties assigned as needed. Skills: The Senior GL Accountant utilizes strong analytical skills daily to review and reconcile complex financial data, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards. Proficiency in accounting software and Excel enables efficient management of journal entries, reconciliations, and financial reporting tasks. Effective communication skills are essential for collaborating with auditors, management, and cross-functional teams to resolve discrepancies and support audit activities. Problem-solving abilities help identify process inefficiencies and implement improvements to enhance financial controls. Additionally, knowledge of regulatory requirements and internal controls ensures that all accounting activities adhere to compliance standards, supporting the organization's financial integrity.
