Description Senior Infrastructure Inspector We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Infrastructure Inspector to support complex civil infrastructure construction projects, including highways, bridges, drainage systems, utilities, and water/wastewater facilities. This role focuses on ensuring construction activities comply with contract documents, technical specifications, DOT standards, and applicable safety and environmental regulations. Key Responsibilities Perform advanced field inspections for roadway, bridge, drainage, and utility construction. Verify compliance with approved plans, specifications, DOT requirements, and regulatory standards. Conduct and document field testing, including density testing, erosion and sediment control inspections, and material verification using nuclear gauge, sand cone, and other approved methods. Monitor contractor operations for safety, environmental, and quality compliance. Prepare detailed Daily Inspection Reports (DIRs) with photos, measurements, quantities, and red-line/as-built documentation. Identify non-conforming work and verify corrective actions. Coordinate with Resident Engineers, project managers, and contractors to resolve field issues. Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior inspection staff. Requirements Required Qualifications Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field preferred. Minimum of 8 years of construction inspection experience, including 4+ years on large-scale civil or transportation projects. Strong experience with DOT specifications, highway and bridge construction, and erosion control practices. Proficiency in reading and interpreting engineering plans, specifications, and contract documents. OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification preferred. Work Environment Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions. Ability to navigate active construction sites and perform physical tasks such as walking uneven terrain, climbing, bending, and standing for extended periods.
