ROLE PURPOSE E&I Technicians perform a wide variety of activities which support the facility and maintain production. Shifts are either eight hours, 5 days a week, with occasional overtime work, or 12 hour rotating shifts with occasional overtime work. An Instrumentation Technician may be required to work in one or more plant areas, doing one or multiple assignments during any given work shift. SKILLS, TRAINING and EXPERIENCE REQUIRED : Repair, install and replace electrical equipment and devices, and instruments including, electric motors, fuses, relays, electric and network cables, pressure transmitters, temperature transmitters, level transmitters and switches, flow transmitters, process sensors. Troubleshooting through PLC and DCS programs and replacements of PLC and DCS components. Work independently or in small groups to install, repair, replace equipment, including control valves, motors, instruments and other process equipment. Work independently or in pairs to repair equipment at workstation. Use a variety of handheld tools which must be grasped manually, applying as much as 100 pounds of torque to disassemble mechanical units. Tools may be manual, electrical or pneumatic in nature, requiring adequate grip for safe operation. Walk/Stand upon a variety of surfaces to transport materials, equipment and tools bet
