Senior Manager State and Local Taxes

Our client is a designer, manufacturer, and distributor of fashion and luxury accessories. They seek a Senior Manager, State and Local Taxes to join their Manhattan, NY office. Responsibilities Lead and coordinate U.S. state and local tax audit and controversy matters, serving as the primary liaison with state and local taxing authorities Oversee SALT-related financial statement reporting under IAS 12, including identifying, documenting, and tracking uncertain tax positions Design and implement state and local tax planning strategies to reduce exposure, manage risk, and enhance cash flow efficiency Deliver technical SALT guidance and strategic recommendations to internal stakeholders, identifying audit risks and mitigation approaches Support special projects such as acquisitions, restructurings, and entity integrations from a state and local tax perspective Advise management on the tax implications of corporate strategy, business changes, and evolving tax legislation Drive process improvements by leveraging standardization, automation, and tax technology to increase efficiency Manage relationships with external advisors, auditors, and taxing authorities to ensure effective and cost-efficient outcomes Provide leadership, mentorship, and coaching to team members to support technical growth, accountability, and continuous improvement Requirements 7+ years of progressive state and local tax experience Open to industry “Controversy” and “audit” experience preferred Experience with NY and CA returns is a plus Corp Tax and OneSource experience preferred CPA is a plus Job ID # 48010 Tagged as: Hybrid Remote/Office
