Job Description
Senior Mechanical Engineer (PE) – Commercial & Institutional Projects Industry: MEP Consulting / Mechanical Engineering Employment Type: Full-Time We're seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer (PE) to lead the design and delivery of complex building systems across a diverse portfolio of commercial and institutional projects. This is an opportunity for an experienced engineer who enjoys both technical leadership and client engagement, and wants to play a key role in shaping projects from early design through construction. What You’ll Do Lead the design and development of mechanical systems (HVAC and related) for commercial and institutional facilities. Perform engineering analysis, system sizing, and layout development with a focus on efficiency, constructability, and cost-effectiveness. Oversee multi-phase project delivery, from schematic design through construction documentation and administration. Coordinate closely with architects, engineers, and project stakeholders across disciplines. Review and contribute to BIM models and drawing production throughout all phases. Support construction phase activities including submittals, RFIs, site visits, and punch lists. Mentor junior engineers and contribute to team development. Participate in client meetings and support proposal development and presentations. What You Bring Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering. 10+ years of experience in mechanical design within a consulting engineering environment. Active Professional Engineer (PE) license. Experience leading projects and coordinating multi-disciplinary teams. Strong knowledge of building systems, codes, and industry standards. Experience across sectors such as aviation, healthcare, higher education, commercial, or institutional projects is a plus. Proficiency in Revit MEP and familiarity with engineering design tools. Strong communication and client-facing skills.
