This position leads the development, implementation, and evaluation of a comprehensive communications and marketing program that supports the Wyoming library community, state agencies, and the public. Serving as the State Library’s media liaison, this role is responsible for delivering clear, engaging, and consistent messaging that increases awareness of library services, programs, and resources across Wyoming. Key responsibilities include developing and executing strategic marketing campaigns to maximize the use of library resources by state agencies and residents, promoting statewide programs and events, and measuring the effectiveness of outreach efforts. This position collaborates closely with Wyoming State Library (WSL) staff, third-party marketing agencies, and WYLD consortium member librarians to coordinate and promote campaign-level initiatives that benefit libraries statewide. This role also provides creative leadership and visual design for the State Library’s website, web-based content management systems, and social media platforms. Responsibilities include developing, maintaining, and securing website platforms and plugins, ensuring content remains current and accessible, overseeing agency social media standards, and responding to public inquiries received online. As a member of the State Library management team, this position helps identify key messages and develop communication strategies that align with agency priorities and strengthen public engagement. The role also manages special programs, including oversight of contracts, reporting requirements, exhibits, and event coordination at state, regional, and national conferences, including the Wyoming Library Association Conference. In addition, this position may assist other Administration & Information divisions with public information and media-related responsibilities as approved by Wyoming State Library supervisory staff.
