Ball Ventures is seeking a highly capable, motivated, detail-oriented, and team-focused Senior Operational Accountant to support the evolution of our accounting function toward greater efficiency, automation, and standardized workflows. The role will play a key part in stabilizing and improving accounting processes across a complex, multi-entity structure. This role focuses on improving and executing accounting operations through technology, consistent processes, and cross-functional collaboration. The Senior Operational Accountant supports the accounting team by driving efficiency, maintaining data integrity across systems, and assisting with core accounting activities within established workflows. This is an opportunity for someone who enjoys working in fast-paced environments, can operate independently, and is comfortable stepping into situations where processes are evolving or not yet fully defined. Key Responsibilities: Own and execute key aspects of the month-end close process across multiple entities. Execute recurring accounting workflows within established processes to support monthly and annual close activities. Prepare and review account reconciliations, investigate variances, and resolve discrepancies Support and manage intercompany transactions and eliminations Assist with consolidations and financial reporting across a multi-entity structure Identify process gaps and implement practical improvements Support ongoing system/ERP transitions, including data validation and cleanup Prepare audit support and interact with external auditors as needed Prioritize competing deadlines and workstreams with minimal oversight Maintain accuracy and integrity of financial data across accounting systems, ensuring consistency between source systems and the general ledger. Support automation initiatives, system improvements, and AI-enabled efficiencies within the accounting function. Identify operational bottlenecks and recommend process improvements to reduce manual work and improve scalability. Assist with preparation of journal entries, reconciliations, and supporting schedules as part of standardized close procedures. Prepare operational and financial reports used by internal stakeholders to support decision-making. Collaborate cross-functionally with accounting, finance, and operations teams to improve workflow efficiency and data quality. Respond to internal and external information requests related to accounting operations and reporting. Help document and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) to support consistency and knowledge transfer. Qualifications : Bachelor’s degree in Accounting (required). 4-8 years of accounting experience. Experience working within accounting systems and financial workflows. Strong Excel skills and comfort working with data sets and reporting tools. Experience with Sage Intacct, Yardi, Quickbooks Online or Desktop or similar ERP and accounting systems preferred. Experience with ERP implementations or system conversions preferred. Exposure to automation, AI tools, or process improvement initiatives required. Experience with multi-level entities, complex ownership structures, intercompany eliminations preferred. Ability to identify inefficiencies and recommend practical, scalable solutions. Strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills with a collaborative mindset. Demonstrated ability to work independently and problem-solve without step-by-step direction. High attention to detail with the ability to see the bigger picture. CPA or public accounting experience is required or equivalent experience in a complex environment. Experience with multi-entity organizations, retail, and/or commercial real estate accounting and/or consolidations required. Tax preparation experience preferred.
