Job Description
Overview We are seeking a hands-on, highly skilled Senior Process Engineer to join a high-performing manufacturing engineering team within a complex production environment. This role is critical to driving process optimization, operational efficiency, quality improvement, and risk reduction across upstream processing operations. The ideal candidate brings deep expertise in fluid processing systems, including heating, cooling, and material movement, and has a proven track record of working directly with equipment in live manufacturing settings. This is not a procedural or documentation-focused role—this position requires an engineer who is actively engaged on the plant floor, driving real-time improvements and owning process performance. This individual will collaborate across Operations, Quality, Maintenance, Reliability, Controls Engineering, and Supply Chain to enhance manufacturing performance, improve process capability, and support capital initiatives. Location On-site role based in Beloit, Wisconsin Relocation Support $10,000 relocation bonus Comprehensive relocation assistance for candidates relocating more than 50 miles Key Responsibilities Process Optimization & Operational Performance Serve as the subject matter expert for fluid-related process engineering, supporting day-to-day manufacturing operations Optimize processes involving heating, cooling, blending, filtration, and fluid movement Identify and implement improvements to enhance throughput, yield, cycle time, and overall equipment effectiveness Reduce bottlenecks, minimize waste, and improve process capability through hands-on engineering solutions Drive process standardization while maintaining flexibility for operational demands Hands-On Engineering & Equipment Ownership Work directly with processing equipment to troubleshoot, optimize, and improve performance in real-time Lead or support equipment design modifications, installations, and commissioning activities Ensure successful startup and integration of new or modified systems, with a focus on reliability and output Partner closely with Maintenance and Operations to resolve complex process and equipment issues Engineering Strategy & Continuous Improvement Develop and execute engineering strategies to improve line capability, capacity, and efficiency Leverage data and analytics to identify trends and drive continuous improvement initiatives Conduct process capability studies to ensure consistent performance and adherence to product specifications Identify and mitigate operational and process risks Capital Projects & Process Design Lead or support capital projects from concept through commissioning, including: Scope development Equipment selection Budgeting and scheduling Construction and startup support Redesign process flows and equipment layouts to improve performance and scalability Ensure all projects meet defined success criteria, including throughput, quality, and reliability targets Food Safety & Process Integrity Ensure compliance with food safety and quality standards, including HACCP, GMP, and QMS requirements Establish and monitor critical process parameters (CCPs) and standard operating conditions Investigate process deviations and implement corrective actions to maintain compliance and product integrity Support safe process design and hazard assessments (e.g., HAZOP, LOPA) Technical Documentation & Standardization Maintain and update technical documentation including: Process flow diagrams and P&IDs Equipment specifications Engineering standards Drive standardization of best practices across operations Qualifications Required Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Chemical Engineering preferred) 7+ years of process engineering experience in a manufacturing environment Strong hands-on experience with fluid processing systems, including heating, cooling, and material transfer Demonstrated experience in equipment design, modification, and commissioning Proven ability to work directly with equipment and processes on the plant floor Experience driving measurable improvements in throughput, yield, and process effic
