Job Description As a Sr. Project Engineer/Manager, you will serve as the primary liaison between project stakeholders, contractors, and BNP, acting as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) across the full lifecycle of projects. You will work in a dynamic office and field environment, operating under the guidance of the Regional Director and other Senior members, and in close coordination with BNP’s global engineering teams. Beyond project delivery, you will play an active role in building BNP’s presence across Oceania. Supporting business development, presenting to new and prospective contacts, and helping to establish BNP Associates as the premier baggage handling and cargo consultant in the region. You will also provide mentorship to junior staff as our local team grows. Our offices are intended to be small, collaborative communities. Job Responsibilities As a Sr. Project Engineer/Manager, your responsibilities may include: Carrying out site inspections, field surveys, equipment tests, and construction management tasks Assessing project sites for feasibility and operational requirements Developing and reviewing CAD drawings, engineering designs, specifications, and technical reports Collaborating with architects, designers, engineers, and trades across multidisciplinary project teams Managing project budgets, programmes, and logistics including RFI responses and punch list resolution Preparing project status reports, cost estimates, and technical studies Conducting and reviewing system simulations and verifying compliance with project requirements Providing technical and specialist support to staff at other BNP offices on matters including BHS controls and system installation, electrical systems design, and emerging trends in airport ground handling and baggage operations Mentoring new and junior staff within BNP Associates Qualifications Below is an outline of the qualifications for this position. We have many team members who fall outside of these criteria, so please do not be dissuaded from applying if you do not meet every requirement: A bachelor’s degree in mechanical, electrical, or industrial engineering, aviation management, airport planning, or a related discipline 2+ years of relevant experience in a Sr. Project Engineer/Manager capacity or related technical field Demonstrated ability to manage complex, multi-stakeholder projects from initiation through to delivery Strong stakeholder-facing skills with the ability to build and maintain trusted professional relationships Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including experience preparing technical reports and project documentation Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams) Ability to work effectively as part of a team or independently Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to multitask across multiple projects simultaneously Flexibility to travel within New Zealand and Australia on a regular basis The following experience would be advantageous: Prior experience with baggage handling systems (BHS), automated material handling, or airport operations Background in ground handling, logistics, or warehousing Familiarity with Revit, or AutoCAD for design purposes Existing networks within the aviation,
