CooperDouglas is partnering with a well-established real estate organization to hire a Senior Property Accountant to support a multi-property portfolio. This role will own the financial reporting and close process across assigned properties while overseeing work prepared by offshore accounting teams. This is a hands-on role with real ownership, ideal for someone who understands property-level accounting, can operate independently, and is comfortable reviewing and elevating work from outsourced partners. Key Responsibilities Manage full-cycle accounting for a portfolio of 15+ properties, including month-end close, financial reporting, and variance analysis Serve as final reviewer of financial statements prepared by offshore teams, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and timeliness Oversee and manage monthly close timelines, ensuring reporting is completed by established deadlines Review journal entries, reconciliations, and supporting schedules for compliance with GAAP and internal policies Partner with property management teams to resolve discrepancies, including rent collections and cash activity Review accounts payable activity, ensuring proper coding, approvals, and supporting documentation Support audit and tax processes, including preparation and review of required schedules and filings Participate in quarterly financial review meetings, providing insight into property performance and key variances Identify process improvement opportunities and drive enhancements across workflows and offshore coordination Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field 4–7+ years of accounting experience, preferably within real estate or multi-entity environments Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting processes Experience managing or reviewing work from offshore or outsourced accounting teams is a plus Advanced Excel skills; experience with ERP/accounting systems (Yardi a plus) Ability to manage multiple properties and deadlines in a fast-paced environment Compensation up to $95,000 to $110,000 + bonus
