About the Opportunity: The Senior Security Data Engineer will analyze large-scale internet data to develop features, labels, and datasets that enhance security-focused AI and machine learning models. This role transforms raw internet telemetry into enriched, model-ready data that improves classification and understanding of hosts, services, and infrastructure. The position focuses on producing labeled security data necessary for identifying entities as benign, suspicious, or malicious, supporting advanced AI solutions for security operations. Responsibilities: • Analyze internet telemetry and datasets to identify signals for improving AI/ML model training related to security classification Build and refine training and evaluation datasets using telemetry, curated labels, and analyst-reviewed data Develop feature discovery, selection, and labeling strategies for classification models Address multi-layer labeling and classification challenges, including device and service categorization before risk assessment Collaborate with research and detection teams to convert security expertise into actionable workflows Work with ML and software engineers to ensure model inputs are production-ready Contribute to feedback loops and evaluation frameworks to enhance model precision, recall, and coverage Develop tooling to support data processing and model input tasks Requirements: • Minimum 5 years of experience in research or software engineering focused on security data Proven ability to analyze large datasets and extract meaningful security insights from ambiguous data Proficiency in programming languages such as Go or Python and experience with SQL or similar tools for data analysis Strong communication skills for collaboration with researchers, ML engineers, software engineers, and security experts Experience working with security-relevant data and applying technical judgment on internet-exposed hosts, services, and infrastructure Pay Range and Compensation Package: • For high cost of living areas (San Francisco Bay, New York City, and Seattle), salary range is $180,000 to $212,000 USD, plus bonus eligibility and equity For other US locations, salary range is $153,000 to $180,000 USD, plus bonus eligibility and equity Actual salary depends on experience level and geographic location Benefits & Perks: • Benefits effective from day one, including 401k match, health, vision, and dental insurance Equal Opportunity Statement: Our client is an equal opportunity employer.
