Position Summary The Senior Service Technician is a key field facing role responsible for the diagnosis, repair, installation, and preventative maintenance of compressed air and vacuum systems and related machinery across Southern California. This role requires a high level of technical expertise, professional customer engagement, and the ability to operate independently on complex service calls. The Senior Technician serves as a technical resource for less experienced team members and is expected to uphold AirVac’s standards for quality, safety, and customer satisfaction on every call. Core Responsibilities Field Service & Technical Operations Diagnose and repair compressed air and vacuum systems, including rotary vane, rotary screw, scroll, reciprocating Perform installation of new compressed air and vacuum systems and associated equipment Execute scheduled and unscheduled preventative maintenance in accordance with OEM specifications and service schedules Troubleshoot electrical, electronic, pneumatic, and mechanical system failures Perform mechanical & electrical repair Conduct plumbing, fabrication, welding, and painting as needed for service and installation Identify opportunities for system upgrades, efficiency improvements, and additional service needs Documentation & Compliance Complete accurate, detailed service reports for every call, including parts used, labor performed, and customer sign-off Maintain organized service records and vehicle inventory in accordance with company standards Adhere to all applicable safety regulations, including OSHA standards and AirVac’s safety protocols Complete other tasks as assigned by the Operations Manager Customer & Team Engagement Serve as the primary technical representative and ambassador for AirVac during field service calls Communicate clearly and professionally with customers, supervisors, vendors, and colleagues Provide guidance and mentorship to junior technicians in the field Participate in on-call rotation as required to support customer service commitments Qualifications Required 5+ years of hands-on experience servicing, repairing, and installing compressed air and/or vacuum systems Strong working knowledge of rotary vane, rotary screw, and/or reciprocating compressor and vacuum pump systems Demonstrated ability to diagnose and repair electrical, mechanical, and pneumatic system failures Experience reading and interpreting wiring diagrams, schematics, and equipment manuals Valid California Class C Driver’s License with a clean driving record High school diploma or GED equivalent Ability to lift up to 75 lbs; team lift protocols are available and required for loads exceeding 50 lbs Ability to stand, bend, kneel, and work in various field environments for extended periods Ability to perform the essential functions of this role with or without reasonable accommodation Preferred Experience with variable frequency drives (VFDs) and programmable logic controllers (PLCs) Bilingual English/Spanish preferred Professional Attributes High level of self-motivation and ability to manage workload independently in the field Professional appearance and demeanor consistent with a customer facing role Punctual, reliable, and accountable to service schedules and team commitments Strong organizational skills and attention to detail in documentation Effective verbal and written communication skills Work Environment & Physical Requirements This is a field based role. Work is performed primarily at customer sites throughout the Southern California service area, with some time at the El Cajon service facility. Technicians may work in industrial environments including manufacturing facilities, warehouses, and utility plants. Conditions may include exposure to noise, dust, heat, and mechanical equipment.
