Hybrid 4 in either Pittsburgh, PA or Lake Mary, FL Our client seeks a Senior SRE Developer to lead technical strategy for deployment automation and infrastructure reliability. The role emphasizes building software to automate operational tasks, enhance observability, and improve availability and scalability across cloud and hybrid environments. You will influence standards, drive CI/CD automation in Python and Go, and guide operational excellence through KPIs, service level budgeting, and incident remediation automation. Due to client requirements, applicants must be willing and able to work on a w2 basis. Rate: $80.00 to $90.00/hr. w2 Responsibilities Define and drive technical strategy for deployment automation and infrastructure reliability to ensure high availability and scalability. Design, develop, and operate CI/CD automation platforms leveraging backend services in Python and Go. Manage cloud and hybrid environments including Azure and on‑prem private cloud using Terraform, Ansible, Kubernetes, and Docker. Lead through technical influence to establish operational standards, tooling, and automation across the SDLC. Automate operational tasks and incident remediation with strong focus on observability and reliability. Introduce and enforce KPIs for operational metrics, service level budgeting, and standards tied to release processes. Assess applications for operational gaps and build solutions to improve production stability and performance. Collaborate with incident workflows and resolve operational problems through software and platform improvements. Requirements Proven software engineering background with an SRE mindset and experience beyond scripting. Hands-on development of automation for CI/CD pipelines using Python and Go. Strong understanding of Azure and/or AWS, containers, and Kubernetes orchestration. Experience managing hybrid and cloud infrastructure with Terraform and Ansible. Demonstrated ability to implement observability using tools such as Splunk and to drive incident reduction via automation. Familiarity with AI tooling and prompt usage to inject metrics and KPIs into operational workflows (preferred). Experience with Jira for ticketing and GitLab for source control (preferred). Ability to lead through standards and solution design without direct people management. Eligibility and motivation for contract-to-hire conversion with onsite presence upon conversion.
