The Stability team supports product engineers by improving observability, incident response, background work processing, and monitoring platform and database health. This focus aims to enhance system reliability and operational robustness. About the Opportunity The Senior Software Engineer - Stability will lead technical projects to improve system reliability and observability. This role involves designing and delivering sustainable software solutions that enhance platform stability. The position contributes by making critical reliability decisions, defining metrics to measure impact, and improving the developer experience through close collaboration with internal teams. The role is vital in maintaining and increasing the dependability of key financial service systems. Responsibilities Lead technical projects from concept through production, defining solutions and making key decisions. Advocate for and improve system reliability, including participation in on-call rotations. Define and collect metrics demonstrating business value from engineering work. Write clear, testable, and maintainable code, setting best practices for scalability and reliability. Design extensible systems, manage technical debt, plan rollouts, and monitor quality post-launch. Support internal customers with a product mindset, gathering feedback and enhancing developer experience. Requirements Expertise in PostgreSQL including query optimization, tuning, replication, pooling/proxying, or client-side libraries. Experience with data systems supporting relational databases such as event streaming, OLAP, or caches. Proven ability to author and operate Temporal workflows. Familiarity with tracing and OpenTelemetry. Experience leading moderate-to-large technical projects with planning, execution, and stakeholder management. Background in Site Reliability Engineering or DevOps. Experience with Haskell or other functional programming languages. Compensation & Benefits Compensation US employees (any location): $166,600 - $250,900 USD per year. Canadian employees (any location): CAD $157,400 - CAD $237,100 per year.
