Role description Level 4 L4 Network Engineer Network Architect Job Description Role Summary The Level 4 Network Engineer is a subject matter expert SME and technical authority responsible for network design architecture governance and strategic problem resolution This role defines standards approves designs and leads major network initiatives and transformations Key Responsibilities Act as final technical escalation point for critical network incidents Lead network architecture design and capacity planning Define and enforce network standards best practices and governance Own major incident RCA problem management and preventive strategies Drive network modernization initiatives including oSD WAN SASE Zero Trust oCloud first and hybrid architectures Approve and review oHigh risk changes and implementations oNetwork designs and solution proposals Work closely with oSecurity Cloud Application and Infrastructure teams oVendors service providers and OEMs Mentor and technically guide L2L3 engineers Lead automation and tooling strategy for network operations Participate in audits compliance reviews and security assessments Influence long term technology roadmaps and investment decisions Technical Skills Expert level knowledge of oAdvanced routing BGP with ISPs traffic engineering oEnterprise cloud network design oFirewall architecture WAF and security integrations Strong experience with oSD WAN SASE and Zero Trust models oAzureAWS cloud networking oHigh availability and DR architectures Automation orchestration oPython Ansible APIs Terraform preferred Strong understanding of oNetwork security compliance and risk management Experience Qualifications 1015 years of enterprise
