The ideal candidate should have experience developing the documentation for and leading Systems Engineering Technical Review (SETR) events such as any of the following: System Requirements Reviews (SRRs), System Functional Reviews (SFRs), Preliminary Design Reviews (PDRs), Critical Design Reviews (CDRs), and Test Readiness Reviews (TRRs). The candidate should have the ability to discuss projects they have supported and/or led. The candidate should be able to self-manage/self-direct projects, and communicate regularly with customers, engineers, logisticians and technicians. Job Duties Lead systems engineering efforts on multiple projects which involve interfacing directly with customers to define key requirements, working with the design team to prepare for and develop documentation for all necessary SETR events, and ensuring project alignment with the full systems lifecycle: concept, design, integration, verification, validation, and transition to production. Have a broad engineering skillset, well-developed work habits, enthusiasm for standing up a formal systems engineering structure on a dynamic program with many different customers, the ability to effectively communicate systems engineering concepts to other members of the team, and the ability to work autonomously without extensive oversight. Work in a multidisciplinary team of Engineers, Analysts, and Technicians on the modernization and development of various Navy Automated Test Equipment (ATE) designs from initial development through prototype and production. Be detail oriented and possess excellent communication skills with proficiency in technical writing, engineering documentation, and verbal presentation. Mentor junior level engineers with the incorporation of systems engineering processes, tools, and best practices from the start of each design effort through final deployment and delivery to the customer. Support in-person interactions with customers at local Naval research center in Newport, RI and occasionally at external customer sites. Qualifications B.S. in Systems Engineering, and five (5) or more years of experience, or a B.S in another engineering field with five (5) or more years direct experience working in a Systems Engineering capacity. Must have the ability to obtain and maintain SECRET level clearance. Experience with some of the following: Experience with SRRs, SFRs, SSRs, PDRs, CDRs, TRRs, PRRs, and PCAs. Demonstrated use of formal Project Management and/or Systems Engineering practices. Knowledge and understanding of mechanical and electrical systems. Experience with National Instrument's hardware and software systems or other data acquisition systems. Project management experience.
